Since 2017, the French start-up SupAirVision has been developing drones that inspect wind turbines to ensure their maintenance. Thanks to technology developed in collaboration with Engie Green France and the University of Reims, the drones capture HD images and detect internal defects using sensors based on pulsed active thermography. SupAirVision is now unveiling its latest innovation: drones capable of repainting wind turbines up to 150 meters high, quickly, safely and cost-effectively. A solution that could find applications in the industrial and construction sectors.

While wind power production represented 13.5 GW in 2017, it is expected to nearly double by 2023 (according to the objectives of the Multiannual Energy Programme); this wind farm requires regular monitoring and maintenance.
